Armed Suspect Robs Newton Centre Sunoco
The incident happened early Sunday morning, April 28.

A knife-wielding suspect reportedly robbed the Sunoco Service Station in Newton Centre on Sunday, April 28.
According to Newton Police reports, officers were dispatched to the service station (325 Boylston St.) just after 6:30 a.m. Sunday for reports of an armed robbery.
The reporting party told police she was going about her day in a usual manner when the suspect walked through the door with a knife pointed at her. The suspect told the woman to "open the register" and "go faster."

The suspect was described as a black male in his late 20s, average height with brown eyes. He was wearing green sweat pants and a light blue striped sweatshirt with the hood up, reports said.
The suspect also had a purple scarf wrapped around the lower half of his face, so only his eyes were showing.

According to reports, the suspect's knife was described as an "ordinary" butcher knife with a 6-inch-long blade.
The suspect, who managed to leave the store with cash, reportedly took a right out of the store and fled westbound on Route 9.
No one was injured in the incident, police said.
Multiple police units searched the area, including the entire Newton section of Route 9, with negative results, reports said.
