Bicyclist Struck by Car at Newton Intersection

The accident occurred at around 10 p.m.

Updated 2:43 p.m. with additional information from police. 

According to , the cyclist involved in last night's accident was a 57-year-old female. She was trasported to an area hospital.

Police do not have any additional information at this time.

According to an alert sent last night from the Incident Page Network, the cyclist was conscious at the scene.

A motor vehicle struck a female bicyclist at the intersection of Freeman Street and Lexington Street Wednesday around 10 p.m., trapping her under the car, according to Twitter reports.

Emergency responders pulled the woman out from under the car, who was reportedly conscious and alert according to Twitter reports from Stephen Walsh.

The victim's shoes lay next to the driver's side door as well as the bicycle, according to Patch Editor Ryan Grannan-Doll, who went to the scene. 

Police shut down the road while an accident reconstruction team began investigating the incident, according to Grannan-Doll.
