Coaches vs. Cancer Basketball Charity Game

The Lincoln-Sudbury and Newton South girls basketball teams are teaming up with the American Cancer Society to host a Coaches vs. Cancer Awareness game. The varsity basketball game will be held on Friday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. at .

Please join in wearing light purple, the color of general cancer awareness. Ninth grade, JV, and Varsity games are in the L-S gym at 4:00, 5:30, and 7:00 p.m. There will be opportunities to donate, buy specialty items like t-shirts, and honor loved ones with messages on a bulletin board. 

Through L-S head basketball coach Liza Feldman's work with the Coaches vs. Cancer program, the L-S team have chosen to dedicate this home game that will benefit the American Cancer Society. Pink and purple will be worn by the players to honor all of their loved ones who have been touched by all cancers.

Fans are encouraged to wear pink or purple to the game. The Lincoln-Sudbury players are in the process of building a Wall of Hope which commemorates those whom died and all who are survivors of cancer. Wall of Hope cards will be available at the games for a $1 donation and will be added to the wall. All proceeds will be donated to the Society in order to assist in their goal of creating a world with less cancer and more birthdays.
