Newton Mayor to Hold CDBG Roundtable Discussion

Residents, elected officials and community members are invited to a roundtable discussion on Community Development Block Grant Funding (CDBG) hosted by Mayor Setti Warren. 

The event will take place Tuesday, Feb. 7 at the of Newton. The discussion begins at 11:30 a.m.

According to a press release issued by Warren's office, the discussion will focus primarily on preserving the CDBG funding, which has helped out numerous organizations in Newton. Some programs that receive CDBG funding include the , , , , the  and the .

Last year, . This year, Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Assistant Secretary Mercedes Marquez will join Warren for the discussion. 

Warren, who chairs the Committee on Community Development and Housing for the U.S. Conference of Mayors, has met multiple times and  to advocate for the CDBG program.
