Sept. 11 Event at the JCC

As the country marks a somber 10th anniversary on 9/11, join fellow community members in a day of remembrance and healing. 

The following events will take place Sun., September 11 at the :

8:30 a.m. -10:30 a.m. Spin-a-thon to benefit Beyond the 11th, nonprofit organizationestablished by JCC member Susan Retik to support Afghan widows

10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Leventhal-Sidman JCC will be open to the entire communityPlease note that the pools will be closed as part of ongoing maintenance

10 a.m. - 1 p.m. NewTV will be on hand to interview JCC visitors for 9/11 recollections tobe edited into a future program

10 a.m. - 11 a.m. • “Superheroes of Kindness” crafts activity. Children will make a capeand families will take home a packet of social action resources• Family sing-a-long

11 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Presentation to local firefighters and police

11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Screening of Beyond the 11th, award-winning documentary on Afghanwidows with discussion to follow.
