Five Things You Need to Know Today: March 20

1. Mayor's Youth Summit II. After a successful Youth Summit in October, Mayor Setti Warren will host a second Youth Summit this evening at Brown Middle School at 6 p.m. Tonight's event will bring together teens, parents and community members to focus on solutions to the challenges discussed during Youth Summit I in October. The evening will include remarks from the mayor, the superintendent and teens as well as small group discussions. 2. Shake Shack is opening! It's finally here. The popular burger/hot dog/frozen custard stand that started in New York City is opening its first Boston-area location in Chestnut Hill at 49 Boylston St. Doors open at 11 a.m. 

3. Stay unplugged. Newton Unplugged & Connected will host a workshop this afternoon at 3:30 p.m. where you can make crafts from recycled or found objects. Then, try your hand at an obstacle course made out of recycled materials. The free workshop will take place in the Newton Free Library Druker Auditorium and is for kids ages 4 and up. Co-sponsored by Green Decade and the Newton Free Library.

4. NewTV annual meeting. NewTV will hold its annual meeting tonight at 7 p.m. The evening will include light refreshments as well as a chance to meet other NewTV members and learn more about the station. Members will also elect one nominee to the NewTV Board of Directors. 

5. Map Night at the Jackson Homestead. Ever wondered what your Newton neighborhood looked like 50, 100 or 150 years ago? Join Allison Carter in looking at Historic Newton's collection of historic atlases. The free event will take place at the Jackson Homestead tonight at 7:30 p.m.
