Budget discussions continue, a NSHS baseball game and it's walk/bike to school day.

1. Walk and Bike to School Day. Families across Massachusetts will walk or bike to school today to promote a healthy lifestyle and help the environment. The weather is forecasted to be sunny and around 70 degrees, according to the National Weather Service, so get out there!
2. Budget discussions continue. The Board of Aldermen's Public Safety and Transportation Committee will take up the Police and Fire department budgets at its meeting tonight. The meeting will be held at 7:45 p.m. in room 202 at City Hall.
3. Looking for results from yesterday's primary? Democrat Ed Markey and Republican Gabriel Gomez won their respective primaries and will face off in a special election on June 25. Check out this story for Newton-specific results.

4. Go Lions! The Newton South High School varsity baseball team will host Westford Academy in a home game today at Newton South. Game time is 4 p.m.
5. Nomination papers available. Starting today, nomination papers are available for the fall municipal election and can be picked up in the Election Commission Office on the first floor of City Hall. The papers are due back by July 30 with the required number of signatures. The fall election will be held Tues., Nov. 5 (with a Sept. 17 primary, if needed).
