The Friendly Toast In Chestnut Hill To Celebrate ‘Pride’ Summer

CHESTNUT HILL, MA —The Friendly Toast locations across New England, including the restaurant in Chestnut Hill, will celebrate "Pride" summer and raise money for GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) with specials throughout July.

The specials are created to help awareness for GLAD, as well as raise money for strategic litigation, public policy advocacy and education focused on GLBTQ legal advocates and defenders working in New England and beyond.

The Friendly Toast said it will donate $1 from each meal special, while Tito's Handmade Vodka will match $1 with each sale of its "One In A Melon Mimosa" up to $10,000 until Aug. 1.

"Our Friendly Fundraisers have shown the ability to raise significant dollars for charity partners and organizations in need," The Friendly Toast Co-Owner Eric Goodwin said. "Last year during our partnership with GLAD, we raised nearly $8,000 from specials sold in support of this proactive organization."

"This year we hope to double that number since we now have more Toast locations and the exciting opportunity to partner with Tito’s,” he continued.

The summer specials include the One In A Melon drink topped with rainbow candy, a Waffle Lot of Pride waffle infused with Fruity Pebbles and topped with candy rainbow ribbons and glitter, a Crabby Patty Benny with lump crab cake and hollandaise, and a Rice, Rice Baby bean special with sliced avocado and pickled red onions.

Other The Friendly Toast locations are in Portsmouth NH, Boston's Back Bay, Burlington VT, Burlington MA, Bedford NH, North Andover MA, Danvers MA and the new Dedham MA location opening in late July.
