The little girl joins her parents Sean and Lisa and big sister Kendra (who is 2) of Chelmsford for the new decade. Jada was born at 12:33 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2020 and was weighed in at 8 pounds, 8 ounces. A hospital spokesperson said mother and child were doing great. As it turns out, Jada was the only baby born at the hospital within the midnight hour. You might have a picture in your mind of ringing in the new year as a baby and finishing up the year an old man. That's because since ancient Greece the image of a baby has represented a fresh start in the new year. In many cultures babies born on the first day of the year are considered to have the best luck and long lives.
