Man Shot In Newton Pro-Israel Rally Gets Probation: Report
The man who inadvertently shot his attacker also settled earlier this month.

NEWTON, MA — A man who was shot after assaulting a pro-Israel demonstrator last year will avoid trial pending a successful probation, according to a report from NBC 10 Boston.
Caleb Gannon, 32, was placed on one year of pretrial probation for his tackling of Scott Hayes during a rally last September. Hayes’s firearm reportedly inadvertently went off during the altercation and shot Gannon in the stomach. Earlier this month, Hayes reached an agreement with Newton Trial Court.
Gannon will have to take an online course on civil discourse, keep away from Hayes, his family, and home as well as keep up with mental health treatment or counseling, or else the case will go to trial.
