Man Steals Jumbo Shrimp, Redbull: Newton Police Logs

NEWTON, MA — In the past week there has been one report of a rape, according to police data. This is the second rape reported so far this year.

Here's a sample of the other types of calls the Newton Police Department respond to each day from the Newton Police logs, crime chart and sometimes police scanner radio, which are public. Arrests do not imply conviction. And just because someone reports a crime does not mean it happened that way.

Thursday, March 28

Vandals: Someone reported vandalism on Adams Street.

Rape: At 7 p.m. someone reported a rape.

Friday, March 29

Something in the kibble? Five people reported dog bites, including one on Keller Path, one at Newton Animal Hospital, one on Chestnut Street, one on Fesseden Lane and one on Nehoiden Road.

Stolen car: Someone called to report their car was stolen from Floral Street.

Break in: Someone parked at Boston Sports Club on Wells Avenue reported their car was broken into.

Saturday, March 30

Vandal: A woman called police to report that while her car was parked at the Wells Ave Boston Sports Club someone snapped her right wiper off the car. And later someone on Christina Street reported vandalism to their property.

Arrest: Police arrest Tony Flores, 26, of Worcester, and charged him on a Default Warrant out of Worcester district court for failure to appear.

Stolen: Someone on Hartford Street reported a larceny.

Sunday, March 31

Redbull and jumbo shrimp?: Someone at Wegman's reported two men came into the grocery store, one put several bottles of Hennessey, Fireball, Johnny Walker in a cart, then takes the elevator to a different level and walks out of the store with the merchandise. The second man came into the store, selects five Red Bull 12 packs, and eight bags of jumbo shrimp and takes the elevator and heads out of the store without payment, too. The first man was described white with dark short hair with some facial hair. He was wearing a black Chevrolet t-shirt and dark pants. The second man was also white with brownish hair with what appears to be some facial hair resembling a beard. He was wearing a black long sleeve shirt with an unidentifiable emblem on the upper left chest, blue jeans and boots. An employee told police he believed both were involved in multiple shoplifting incidents at the Wegman's store in Burlington.

Neighbors: A Commonwealth Park resident called to report an issue with their neighbor.

Vandals: Someone on Adams Street reported vandalism.

Monday, April 1

Shoplifting: Someone at the Apple store at Chestnut Hill reported a man came into the store and stole about eight i-watches just before 8 p.m. Employees said the man described as a thin and black and wearing dark pants with a bright orange stripe down the leg, a bright orange hooded coat and a bright orange baseball hat circled around a front table then grabbed the watches and put them in his pocket before taking off. Employees said the man that stole other apple products about a month ago at the same store.

Warrant Arrest: Police arrested Anthony Colby,40, of Newton on two active warrants out of West Roxbury District and East Boston.

Break in: An Ithaca Circle resident called police to report two of his cars were broken into while they were parked in the driveway. Both were unlocked at the time, he told police.

Heroin in the city: Police arrested Kevin M. Goheen, 47, of Boston and charged him with operating after suspended license and possession of Class A drug, heroin. Charles Beard,35, of Revere was also arrested. He is being charged with possession of Class A drug (heroin). He also had three warrants out for his arrest.

April 2

Unwanted: An employee at BAZA Gourmet Foods on Tower Road, reported an unwanted person at the shop.

Suspicious: Someone on Cummings Road reported a suspicious person around 10 p.m.
