Medication Take Back Day This Saturday in Newton

The drop-off event will be held April 27 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Spring cleaning season is in full swing, and this weekend it's time to tackle the medicine cabinet.

The Newton Police Department will host a Medication Take Back Day this Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Newton Police Headquarters.

Police will accept prescription and over-the-counter solid dosage medications (tablets, capsules) and dispose of them safely and properly.

The drop-off will be located at the Support Services Bureau, which is behind Newton Police Headquarters, 1321 Washington St., West Newton.

Those who are dropping off items should not bring weapons, intravenous solutions, injectable drugs, needles, or illegal drugs such as marijuana or methamphetamines.
