Middlesex County At High Risk For COVID-19 Again
Most communities in Middlesex County have said they have no plans to reinstate mask mandates at this time.
NEWTON, MA — Middlesex County now has high community levels of COVID-19, along with seven other counties in Massachusetts, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The CDC recommends that people in high risk areas wear masks in indoor public spaces, stay up-to-date with vaccines and boosters, and get tested if experiencing symptoms. Additional precautions may be needed for those at high risk of severe illness.
The community levels of COVID-19 are based on incidence rate, new hospital admissions with confirmed COVID-19 per 100,000 people, and percent of inpatient beds occupied by COVID-19 patients.
