New Business Brings Wellness Fad To Needham Street

Even as a number of businesses have had to close up shop because of the economic effects of the pandemic, this business is about to open.

NEWTON, MA — Even as a number of businesses have had to close up shop because of the economic effects of the pandemic, one Newton strip mall just announced a new specialty spa business set to open, bringing an increasingly popular wellness trend to Needham Street.

Restore Hyper Wellness + Cryotherapy is set to open in a nearly 2,000 square foot space at the Needham Street Village Shops on Needham Street, according to Bierbrier Development, which manages the shops.

This will be the first Massachusetts location for the chain, which is based in Texas. Locations in Hingham and Lynnfield are both slated to open soon, as well. The company was ranked hottest franchise in America in 2019 by Inc. Magazine. That year, it had 36 locations and planned an additional 100 stores to open in 2020.

They business offers wellness services like cryotherapy, cryoskin, compression therapy, IV drip therapy, micronutrient testing, allergy testing and allergy shots.

Cryotherapy is a treatment that involves exposing the body to extremely cold temperatures for several minutes made popular by celebrities and professional athletes have embraced it. Think: modern ice baths.

Proponents believe the has the ability to heal aching muscles or aid in quicker recovery times after athletic endeavors or workouts. The FDA issued a warning to consumers recommending they consult their doctors before undergoing treatment.

The spa will be near Partners Health Care, T-Mobile, Relax the Back, Beal Bank USA, Dr. Alex Smolyar, DMD, Deka Lash and b.good at the Needham Street Village Shops.
