New Sushi Bar Opens In Chestnut Hill

NEWTON, MA — A sushi bar just launched as the newest addition to Chestnut Hill Square.

Lab 13 is a specialty omakase-style hand roll sushi bar that opened on 210 Boylston St. Owner TJ Zhang said that its nori seaweed and vinegar rice will stand out among its competitors.

“It is not commonly understood that sushi is not actually a fish dish, but a rice dish. The rice must be specially prepared to complement the fish -- and not the other way around,” the establishment said in a statement. “Combining the essence of rice and the freshest fish in a handroll to eat is exceptionally special and worthy of its own restaurant.”

Lab 13’s handrolls are chef-crafted in front of its customers.
