NEWTON, MA — A recent study from WalletHub found Newton is among the country's best small cities for money management.

The study found Newton is the nation's 35th-best small city in the country for money management, placing it in the 99th percentile based on a number of factors. Waltham, meanwhile, ranked No. 153 among small cities.

The study looked at money-management skills across 10 key metrics including debt-to-income ratios, average percent of credit used, number of late payments, median credit score, foreclosure rate and more.
