Hospital Claims It Is Not The Cause For Brain Tumors Based On Investigation: Report

NEWTON, MA — An investigation conducted by Newton-Wellesley Hospital after five nurses who work together all developed brain tumors yielded no findings that their place of work is the cause, according to a report from CBS News.

The five nurses work together on the fifth-floor maternity unit, and all developed benign growths. According to the hospital’s President and Chief Operating Officer Ellen Moloney, the investigation included a review of air and water quality, and testing for potential radiation, chemical or pharmaceutical exposures. She insisted that the work environment is not connected to the medical diagnoses.
