NEWTON, MA — City leadership announced dates for listening sessions that detail the new Cooper Center for Active Learning that is scheduled to open later this year.

The three sessions are taking place on Wednesday, July 23, Friday, Aug. 8, and Wednesday, Aug. 27 and can be joined in-person at the Druker Auditorium in the Newton Free Library or virtually through Zoom.
All sessions will be led by Director of Adult Services Mignonne Murray.

The center is slated to open at 345 Walnut St. this Fall. In February, Mayor Ruthanne Fuller announced it would be named after resident Audrey Cooper, who made many positive contributions to the city up until her death in 2021.
