NEWTON, MA — The Carroll Center for the Blind announced Tuesday that it has appointed four new members to its Board of Directors.

The nonprofit organization located on 770 Centre St. has assisted in improving the quality of life for visually impaired people through vocational programs, counseling, rehabilitation services, and assistive technology training for nearly 90 years.

Evan Haberman, Paul Cheek, Scott Faust, and Joe Prestejohn are the newest Board members. Haberman has been an employee for investment management company Merill Lynch for almost 40 years, where he is currently the Senior Vice President and Wealth Management Advisor. Cheek is a senior lecturer at Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management and a best-selling author of Disciplined Entrepreneurship: Startup Tactics. Faust is returning to the Board after a one-year hiatus. The recently-retired lawyer originally served from 2014 through 2023.
