NEWTON, MA — The city’s main community events organizer has announced it is rebranding after more than 35 years as a Newton staple.

Newton Community Pride has officially changed its name to Spark Newton. The nonprofit organization said the new name better reflects its mission to “spark” a connection between residents through community-building events.

"We're not just about celebrating what's here; we're about sparking new ideas, new friendships, and new ways for people of all ages and abilities to engage with their neighbors and local artists,” Spark Newton Executive Director Blair Lesser Sullivan said.
