Newton Resident Shuts Down Vermont Highway With Truck Violation: Report

The driver was reportedly driving a truck that was nearly 30 feet longer than allowed.

NEWTON, MA — A resident is facing a mutli-thousand dollar fine after violating a motor vehicle ordinance in Vermont on Tuesday, according to a report from NBC 5.

Jackson Mulindwa, 42, shut down Vermont Route 108 for a period of time after attempting to turn his 73-foot tractor trailer truck. Only vehicles under 45-feet long are permitted to drive on the Smuggler’s Notch Road in Cambridge, Vermont.

Mulindwa was fined $2,347 for the violation. The roadway was reopened by approximately 11:20 a.m.
