Newton Restaurants, Grocers Taking Part in Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer
The fundraiser is happening through May 12.

A cancer fundraiser involving sweet treats is now underway, and nearly a dozen Newton and Chestnut Hill businesses are taking part.
Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer, in its 14th year, started Monday and runs through Sunday, May 12. Last year's event raised more than $78,000.

Participating businesses create a special dessert to include on their menu, with proceeds from that dessert benefiting cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Bakes for Breast Cancer, Inc., a non-profit breast cancer organization.
