Newton On Wild Goose Chase For Duck Owners
Three domestic ducks have been spotted on the loose in the city.
NEWTON, MA — The city’s Animal Control department is looking to locate the owner of three domestic ducks that have been spotted loose in the city.
The trio of Silver Appleyard Ducks have reportedly been spotted in the vicinity of Crystal Lake recently. According to Newton Animal Control volunteer Nina Levin, two of the ducks are males while the other one is female. The department believes they were either intentionally released or escaped from their habitat, and insisted that the domestic birds will not be able to survive the winter weather conditions.
Levin said the ducks will be taken to Nevins Farm in Methuen to quarantine after exposure to the lake.
