Newton Woman Wins $1 Million In Lottery Game
She plans to use the money to go toward a new car, she said.

NEWTON, MA — It was no April Fools' joke. Gail Abelow of Newton was the 46th $1 million prize winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s "The Fastest Road to $1 Million" instant game.
Abelow chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (less tax withholding). She plans on using some of her winnings to buy a car, she told the lottery.
Her winning ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven, 612 Washington St. in Newton. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of the ticket. And this might just be a lucky store. On March 1, a Waltham man bought his winning “Diamond Mine 50X” instant game ticket at the same 7 Eleven. He was the $1 million prize winner, too.
