Newton's American Legion Post 440 To Host First Responders Cookout
The event will be held on Saturday, May 14 at 12 p.m. at 295 California Street.

NEWTON, MA — The American Legion Post 440 Auxiliary is hosting a “First Responders Appreciation Cookout” on Saturday, May 14 at 12 p.m.
The event will be held outdoors at The American Legion Post 440, located at 295 California Street in Newton. A rain date is set for Sunday, May 15. It will feature live music, burgers, dogs, drinks, Blue Ribbon BBQ, O’HARA’s and Cabot’s Ice Cream.
"This cookout is designed to take a moment to thank the men and women who bravely, and
without hesitation, are the first to attend to citizens of our community in need,” said the organization in a news release.

The First Responders Appreciation Cookout is free and open to the public. Each first responder in attendance will be personally presented with an appreciation coin commemorating their service to our community. and Newton’s Top Cop and Top Community Service participants will be recognized.
In addition, Newton Police Chief John Carmichael, Newly Retired Newton Fire Chief Gino Lucchetti, and Fallon Ambulance Section Officer and Paramedic Jason Kingery will all say a few words.
