Pan-Mass Heroes, Costumed Superheroes and Friday Finds
A few things you need to know in Newton on Friday, Aug. 2, 2013.

1. Did you know that some of your neighbors have been raising money for the Pan-Mass Challenge for 20 years? You can meet them and another Newton family during tonight's WCVB Chronicle episode. Details are posted in the Newton Patch Boards section.
2. It's farmers' market day at American Legion Post 440 from noon to 5 p.m. Remember that Friday markets now feature "Friday Finds." For more on what that means, check out our video from the market. It's linked above.
3. Alderman Stephen Linsky will hold his monthly office hours at the Newton Senior Center Friday at 8:30 a.m. Stop by and meet the alderman.
4. ICYMI. A Newton resident took her love of comic books and superheroes all the way to a Boston Comic Con contest win.
5. It's Picture Books on Film day at the Newton Free Library. The short films will be screened in the Children's Room from 10:30 a.m.-11 a.m.
