Some Meetings, Free Dog Training, Art Reception

1. Head to the Newton Free Library Thursday night at 7 for an art reception with Coco Berkman. Berkman's work will be on display at the library until Aug. 29.

2. The Community Preservation Committee meeting originally scheduled for today has been canceled. The Upper Falls Historic District Commission, however, is meeting. That meeting will take place at 7 p.m. in Room 202 of Newton City Hall.

3. Don't forget about the free dog training classes offered by the city. Dates are Aug. 15, 18 and 24. More information and the opportunity to sign up here.

4. ICYMI. Several Newton businesses made the "Best of Boston - Beyond Boston" list. 

5. Friday meeting. Just giving you a heads up since it's a morning meeting: The Economic Development Advisory Committee meets at 8 a.m. Friday.
