NEWTON, MA — The iconic South End establishment Stella Restaurant and Bar has reopened a cafe branch in Newton. Chef Evan Deluty celebrated the opening of Stella Newton at 549 Commonwealth Ave on July 28. The Italian is currently open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will remain on that schedule for the next few weeks. "We hope to see lots of new and returning faces and can't wait to start serving some delicious food again!" the restaurant said in a statement last month. Stella's initial menu features Italian favorites such as arancini, Margherita pizza, and pasta bolognese. There are also several items honoring the Jewish community, including matzo ball soup and potato pancakes.
