Here's a quick look at the tournament situation as of Monday morning: <h2>Softball</h2> The No. 10-seeded Newton North girls will head into quarterfinal play on Tuesday, with a home game against No. 15 seed Westford. <h2>Volleyball</h2> The Newton South (No. 1) boys faced the Newton North (No. 5) team in the semifinal round Friday, and Newton South emerged victorious. The Lions will take on No. 2-seed Needham Monday at 6:30 p.m. <h2>Tennis</h2> Boys: Tournament play for the Newton North boys' tennis team, a No. 7 seed, opened Friday with a home victory over Franklin. They'll next be in action on Tuesday, June 4, at home at 4 p.m. against No. 15 Xaverian.
