Two Women, Infant Transported Following Monday Afternoon Crash

Newton Police are investigating the two-car Washington Street collision.

Newton Police said two women and a 2-month-old infant were transported to the hospital Monday afternoon following a two-car crash.

According to police, the infant is the child of one of the women transported and none of the injuries appeared to be life threatening. No one from the other vehicle involved in the crash required hospital transport.

Newton Police Lt. Bruce Apotheker said the crash occurred just before 2:30 p.m. Monday near 816 Washington St. in Newtonville. The crash caused a temporary detour, but traffic was quickly able to pass through the area.

Apotheker said the crash remains under investigation.
