Newton Cyclist Dies After Collision With UPS Driver: Middlesex DA

The UPS driver turned left as Alex Bohm, 57, was crossing the intersection of Bridge and Watertown streets, officials said.

NEWTON, MA — A 57-year-old Newton bicyclist died Monday after UPS driver hit him near the intersection of Bridge and Watertown streets, Middlesex DA Marian Ryan said.

Alex Bohm was riding westbound along Watertown Street near 5:30 p.m. when the UPS driver traveling eastbound made a left onto Bridge Street, hitting Bohm.

Bohm died later at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. The UPS driver, who is also a 57-year-old from Newton, remained at the scene to speak with investigators. The DA's office did not identify the driver.

State police are still investigating the collision. The DA's office did not immediately announce any charges related to the incident.
