Find Out About the Candidates

Meet the candidates for Mayor and Ward 1 Alderman on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Evans Park at Newton Corner, 430 Centre St. See more here. On Thursday, the four candidates for mayor will appear on NewTV for a live debate.

See Screening of New Film on Newton History

The new film, "Big Buildings, Big Machines, Big Stories," produced by Newton filmmakers Ellie Goldberg and Laura McCarthy Johnson, will screen at the Waterworks Museum on Wed., Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. Light refreshments. The Museum is located at 2450 Beacon St., across from the Chestnut Hill Reservoir. Tickets are $5. 

Free Hearing Screening

A representative from Mass Audiology will be giving free hearing screenings on Thursday at 345 Walnut St. in Newtonville. 

Theater Symposium at Boston College

Boston College will host a one-day symposium with performance in celebration of the 50th anniversary year of the Bread and Puppet Theater, the foremost populist, political theater in the United States.  The event - titled "Fifty 
Years Bread and Puppet: Cheap Art and Political Theater" - will take place on BC's Chestnut Hill campus on Saturday. Find out more here.
