NEWTON, MA — Native Alicia Lee’s young ballet career is off to a fast start, as the 9 year-old is slated to perform in Boston Ballet’s upcoming production of The Nutcracker.

Lee, a 4th-grade student at Mason-Rice Elementary School, already has 6 years of ballet experience at the Boston Ballet School. After being selected to join the school’s classical ballet program last year, Lee now has her first chance to perform in the school’s flagship performance.
“Participating in a full-length ballet is an important performance opportunity for students, exposing them to aspects of ballet they do not experience in a regular class,” Lee’s father Christopher said.

According to Christopher Lee, ballet is not his daughter’s only artistic passion. Alicia Lee also plays piano, and has taken part in international competitions and performances at high-profile locations such as Carnegie Hall.
