Your Guide: The Trees of Newton will 'Talk'
Take a look at this special even taking place this weekend.

It's time for another round of Historic Newton Walks.
This Sunday, join Historic Newton for a walk and examination of the "Great Old Trees of Farlow Hill."
Have you ever stopped to consider that there are great trees in Newton that have shaded Civil War soldiers or horse-drawn carriages or the transition from candles to electricity? If these trees could talk...
Marc Welch, Newton's director of urban forestry, and Beth Wilkinson, a resident and member of the Newton Tree Conservancy will guide the walk and discuss the history of the area through its old, old trees.
Meet Sunday, Aug. 11 at 2 p.m. on the corner of Waverley Avenue and Kenrick Street at the copper beech of the Durant-Kenrick House and Grounds.
