The following is an excerpt from the Peabody Police log from over the weekend:
- At 2:03 p.m. Thursday, Ronald L. Screti, 58, 4 Tamarack Lane, Peabody, was arrested on a warrant.
- At 3:54 p.m. Thursday, police responded to Rutledge Road for a report of kittens on the porch steps. The kittens went under the porch and police could not remove them.
- At 11:13 a.m. Friday, a tree was found across the road on Lynnfield Street. The DPW cleared the tree.
- At 4:49 p.m. Friday, police arrested Timothy B. Kerr, 50, 286 Newbury Street, Peabody, on charges of driving after license suspension (subsequent offense).
- At 5:03 p.m. Friday, police assisted the Animal Rescue League with getting into the after it was reported animals were inside.
- At 5:12 p.m. Friday, two people were summonsed for shoplifting from a super market.
- At 5:31 p.m. Friday, police arrested Christopher A. Thomas, 24, 148 Washington Street, Peabody, on charges of assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
- At 5:58 p.m. Friday, police arrested Michael J. Rufo, 58, 45 Reed Street, Peabody, on charges of domestic assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
- At 9:22 p.m. Friday, police arrested Frank W. Costa, 69, 10 Holten Street, Peabody, on a warrant and also on two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon (knife, piece of metal).
- At 1:58 p.m. Saturday, police arrested Alexandre C. Coura, 30, 74B Tremont Street, Peabody, and charged him with driving without a license.
- At 4:43 p.m. Saturday, a resident of Elm Street reported seeing a man duck down in her yard. When police arrived, the man told him he was just hiding from his girlfriend.
- At 10:12 p.m. Saturday, police were called to a karaoke party on Avon Street after a neighbor complained about the noise. The party said they would stop by 11 p.m.
- At 2:18 a.m. Sunday, police arrested Michael D. Harvey, 20, 1 Saunders Court, Lynnfield, and charged him with driving with an open container of alcohol, disorderly conduct, forgery/misuse of RMV document, possession of class B drugs to distribute, driving without a license, driving without a registration and resisting arrest. The arrest was made on Newbury Street.
- At 10:04 a.m. Sunday, two residents of Perley Avenue found their car windshields smashed overnight.
- At 10:40 a.m. Sunday, a resident of Bartholomew Street said their house was egged overnight.
- At 9:47 p.m. Sunday, a resident of Washington Street complained about fireworks.
- At 1:17 a.m. Sunday, police were called to a Central Street business for a report of a male and female yelling at each other in the car. When police talked to the couple they said they were singing.
- At 7:28 a.m. Monday, a resident told police a tombstone in Oak Grove Cemetery was knocked over.
- At 12:41 p.m. Monday, police cleared the airway of a person who was choking.
