Jimmy Tingle: Comedy & Commentary in Plymouth

Plymouth, MA, prepare for a night of laughter and reflection! Three-time "Best of Boston" award-winning comedian Jimmy Tingle is set to make his Spire Center for Performing Arts debut on April 19, 2025, with his one-man show, "Humor and Hope for Humanity."
Tingle's show promises a hilarious and thought-provoking journey through his remarkable life, from his early days as a Boston street performer to his appearances on national television, his graduation from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, his foray into the world of politics, and his current perspectives on 2025. It's a story of ambition, humor, and social commentary, all woven together with Tingle's signature wit.
This special one-night-only engagement follows a successful theatrical run of "Humor and Hope for Humanity" at the SoHo Playhouse in New York City, further solidifying Tingle's reputation as a master storyteller and comedian. He also recently released his new comedy documentary, "JIMMY TINGLE: The “Radical” Middle – Why Would a Comedian Run for Office?"
A nationally recognized comedian, commentator, producer, and actor, Jimmy Tingle is a true Renaissance man of comedy. He's the founder of Humor for Humanity, a social enterprise dedicated to raising spirits, funds, and awareness for non-profit organizations. His impressive career includes stints as a humorist and commentator for "60 Minutes II" and MSNBC, appearances on "The Tonight Show," CNN, "Conan O'Brien," and "Fresh Air with Terry Gross," and even his own HBO half-hour comedy special.
Tingle's talents extend to the big screen as well, with roles in films like "Next Stop Wonderland," "Boondock Saints," "Head of State" (starring Chris Rock), and "Clear History" (starring Larry David). He has also contributed to several documentary films, including "When Stand up Stood Out," "Call Me Lucky" (directed by Bobcat Goldthwait), "Damned in the USA," and "America with the Top Down."
The Spire Center for Performing Arts, located at 25 ½ Court Street in Plymouth, MA, is a fantastic venue for this type of performance. The center is handicap accessible, and public parking is readily available both streetside and in nearby public lots.
