📰 News we're reading

• Weather has made ice skating outdoors difficult. Quincy has an answer (patriotledger.com) — Quincy is keeping outdoor skating alive with a free artificial-ice rink open through Feb. 22, 2026, complete with free skate rentals and a heated tent. As natural ice becomes unreliable across the South Shore, this city-run rink offers residents a dependable, family-friendly way to enjoy classic New England winter skating close to home.

• Former wife lacked standing to contest foreclosure notice (masslawyersweekly.com) — A recent Appeals Court ruling, praised by a Quincy foreclosure lawyer, limits who can challenge foreclosure notices to actual parties to the mortgage. The case, involving a Peabody home transferred in a divorce, held that a former spouse who wasn’t on the mortgage lacked standing to attack a defective default notice, though her attorney plans to seek further review.
