Everett Man Allegedly Threatened to Kill If Not Let Into Home

Boston Police charged an Everett man with wilful and malicious destruction of property after he allegedly damaged a screen door, and threatened to kill if he weren't let into a Cornell Street apartment.
On Oct. 28 around 4:55 a.m., Bryan Cortez, of 194 Chelsea St. 1R, Everett, was arrested and charged with wilful and malicous destruction of property, and disturbing the peace.

Police spoke to a resident of 117 Cornell Street who said an unknown male was ringing the doorbell and banging on the front door of the building. The resident told police there was new damage to the front screen door, according to a Boston Police report.
The suspect couldn't be found at first, and police returned a second time, then found him on the third time.

While officers were putting the suspect in the patrol wagon, a man living in the building approached police. That person said the damage to the door was new and done by the suspect. He alleged the suspect threatened to kill him if he didn't let the suspect enter the home. The victim said he did not was the suspect around the home anymore and said he'd be seeking a harassment prevention order.
