The Shrewsbury Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 30th at 9:30 a.m. departing from the Richard D. Carney Municipal Office Building, 100 Maple Ave and making stops at the following locations: Soldier’s Statue in front of Police Station on Maple Ave, War Memorial at the Town Center (Corner of Route 140 and Main Street) and at the Veterans Lot at Mountain View Cemetery.

This year Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor, Karyn Polito will speak at the Town Center.

The Memorial Address at the Town Center will be given by Shrewsbury resident, Christopher Knight, Senior Chief Petty Officer (Retired). Senior Petty Officer Knight served over 22 years in the US Navy including 4 years of active duty. He was deployed numerous times both abroad and in the United States.

The Memorial Day Parade Committee welcomes all local veterans and active military personnel as well any family members of deployed military personnel to march in the parade. Formation begins at 9:00 a.m. from the Municipal Office Building. Parking and drop off is available near the Senior Center side of Town Hall. For those who wish to park at the town center there will be a shuttle van running from the Sumner House to the Town Hall beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Veteran’s Inc.

Marine Corp League of Worcester, Detachment # 144

Members of the Shrewsbury Boy Scouts

Members of the Shrewsbury Girl Scouts

Shrewsbury Speech and Debate Team Members

Sunday May 29th

Volunteers from Shrewsbury Girl Scout troops will be placing flags on Veterans’ graves at Mountain View Cemetery on Sunday, May 29th starting at 8 a.m.

The week leading up to Memorial Day members of Cub Scout Pack 62 will be placing flags on all the Town Veterans Square Memorials.
