Hazardous Material Discovery Closes Shrewsbury Library

The library was closed for several hours.

SHREWSBURY, MA—The Shrewsbury Library was reopened at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31.

Hazardous materials were discovered at the library on Tuesday morning, forcing the closure. The state Hazardous Materials Response Team responded and has ensured the building is now safe for the public.

Further information will be provided by the Shrewsbury Public Library and the Shrewsbury Fire Department as information becomes available, according to authorities.
