Man Arrested for Drunken-Driving and False Checks

The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Friday, April 5

7:57 a.m.: An officer issued three written warnings while enforcing traffic regulations on Route 20 at Route 40.

8:42 a.m.: A caller from the Shrewsbury Green Apartments reported vandalism to motor vehicles.

9:22 a.m.: Officers from the Shrewsbury Police Department responded to a car crash on Memorial Drive. One vehicle was towed and one person was hospitalized.

9:40 a.m.: Officers responded to a crash on Hartford Turnpike. Both vehicles were towed and one person was transported to the hospital.

12:50 p.m.: An officer issued one verbal warning while enforcing traffic regulations on Oak Street.

4:39 p.m.: An officer advised dirt bike riders not to operate on the roadway of Plainfield Avenue.

5:38 p.m.: Officers responded to a crash on Hartford Turnpike with the Shrewsbury Fire Department. Three cars were involved and at least one person was treated for injuries.

5:40 p.m.: A caller reported a male with a possible medical issue at the intersection of South Street and Boston Turnpike. Richard Tedesco, 36, of 11 Sears Island Dr., Worcester. Tedesco was charged with drunken-driving and warrant charges for two counts of passing fraudulent checks.

Saturday, April 6

10:35 p.m.: Officers responded to a crash on Hartford Ave. Two vehicles were towed and two people were transported to Flynn’s Truck Stop .

Sunday, April 6

12:30 a.m.: An officer arrested Shawn Cote, 27, of 93 Summer St., Apt. 102, Biddeford ME, on charges of failure to register as a sex offender.

8:43 a.m.: An officer arrested Linda Downing, 58, of 36 North Quinsigamond, Apt. 204. Downing faced warrant charges of fugitive of justice on Court Warrant

7:27 p.m.: An officer spoke to a group of youths climbing on a building at Browning Road.
