Man Tried To Pick Up Shrewsbury Students At Apartment Complex: Police
Shrewsbury police are looking for a man who claimed to be an Uber driver sent to pick up the local students.
SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury police are trying to track down a man who offered rides to several young people while claiming to be an Uber driver.
The incident happened Wednesday morning at the Shrewsbury Commons apartment complex along Route 9. According to police, the man drove up and told the students he was sent by their parents to pick them up. The students were waiting at a school bus stop.
"No students got into the vehicle, and the subject drove away," police said.

Shrewsbury police and the school district are jointly investigating the incident after the students reported it to police.
The man was described as being in his 30s or 40s and was driving a black sedan. Anyone with information can call Shrewsbury police at (508) 841-8435 and ask to speak with officer Shawn Valliere.
