Police Log: Rescued Pit Bull, Broken Garage Windows

The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Dec. 5

3:01 p.m.: A resident went in to the Shrewsbury Police Department to report a restraining order violation.

3:09 p.m.: The Animal Control Officer recovered a black and white female pit bull from Lake Street and brought it to Worcester Animal Rescue.

5:28 p.m.: A caller reported a two-car crash at the exit ramp for Route 290. One vehicle was towed from the scene.

7:58 p.m.: K9 Buzzy and several officers checked the Shelly’s Café and Deli after a suspicious male ran from a police officer. The male was never located.

8:59 p.m.: Daniel Brooks, 46, of 701 Main St., Worcester was arrested at 196 Boston Turnpike. Brooks had three warrant charges for his arrest.

9:46 p.m.: Two vehicles hit a deer on Hartford Turnpike.  A tow was called for one vehicle but the operator refused it.

10:12 p.m.: Buzzy and an officer searched the Walnut Street area after a caller reported her garage windows had been broken.
