Police Log: Stolen Christmas Presents

The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Dec. 4

7:39 a.m.: A caller reported malfunctioning lights at the intersection of Main Street and Holden Street. When an officer responded the lights were functioning properly.

8:59 a.m.: An officer issued a citation to a driver who nearly hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk on Main Street.

9:20 a.m.: A contractor hit a gas line while working on Joyce Circle. NStar responded and shut the gas off.

12:40 p.m.: Melissa Hendrix, 28, of 58 Providence Rd., Grafton was arrested 571 Boston Turnpike. She was charged with shoplifting by concealment.

2:19 p.m.: A caller from Meadowsweet Road reported a suspicious male at his neighbor’s house. The caller called back and reported that it was his neighbor whom he didn’t recognize.

3:58 p.m.: The shed at St. Anne’s Church was broken into and the Christmas donations were stolen.

5:37 p.m.: A caller reported that they hit a guardrail near Staples after a tire blow out. The vehicle was assisted in the Staples parking lot.

8:20 p.m.: A caller from Brightside reported that their house had been broken into. Officers responded with the K9 and searched the area.

11:44 p.m.: A caller from Hartford Turnpike reported a suspicious pickup truck on the property. Officers responded and spoke to the male in the pickup truck who was known to the caller. The male was taken in to protective custody.
