The money will be used to reimburse the police department for dispatcher salaries for this fiscal year.

SHREWSBURY, MA — The Shrewsbury Police Department announced that it has been awarded $173,283 in grant funding from the state's 911 department. The funds will be used to reimburse the police department for dispatcher salaries for this fiscal year.
Initially, the police force received more than $128,000 in funding, but the department said that it was able to secure an additional $45,000 for providing dispatch services for mental health. The Shrewsbury Police Department partners with Advocates Inc., which provides a full-time co-response mental health clinician.
The funding was granted under the FY26 Executive Office of Public Safety and Security (EOPSS), State 911 Department Support and Incentive Grant.
