Shrewsbury Residents Could See Outages During Water Main Work
Residents in Shrewsbury can expect to have running water returned to their homes by 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 12.
SHREWSBURY, MA — Wondering why you don't have water in your Shrewsbury house on Thursday? According to the Town of Shrewsbury, water main maintenance is to blame.
In a notice sent Thursday, March 12, the town announced a contractor is working to connect a new water main and install new valves.
The new main on Main Street is being connected to mains on School Street and Main Circle. Valves are being replaced at the intersection of Main Circle and Walnut Street.

Residents on certain streets in Shrewsbury will have disrupted water service during these replacement projects.
The city noted residents might also notice reduced water pressured or discolored water. Anyone with discolored water is encouraged to bleed the residue from water lines by running the cold water in an outside faucet or downstairs bathtub until discoloration clears.

Those streets are:
- Main Street from East Avenue to the Northborough town line
- School St and the adjoining streets
- Main Circle and the adjoining streets
- Walnut Street from Main Circle to Hillando Drive and the adjoining streets
- Norwood Avenue
- Victoria Circle
- Spring Street from Main Street to Park Grove Lane and the adjoining streets
- High Street from Spring Street to approximately house #69
