Shrewsbury Shifting Town Hall Hours Starting This Week

Shrewsbury will add hours on one day, but reduce hours on another weekday starting April 6.

SHREWSBURY, MA — The hours at Shrewsbury Town Hall will change Thursday, with the town overall reducing the weekly amount of time offices will be open to the public.

Starting Thursday, the building will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and from 8 a.m. to noon on Fridays for a total of 40 hours per week.

Today, town hall is open daily from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for a weekly total of 42-1/2 hours.

"Town employees will still be working a full work week with these changes and will be available throughout the designated operating hours," the town said in a bulletin about the change.

Other parts of local government like SELCO, the library, Council on Aging and the police and fire departments will not be affected by the change. Shrewsbury Town Hall will also be open at nighttime for meetings. For example, Shrewsbury Select Board meetings typically being at 7 p.m.
