SHREWSBURY, MA — The Shrewsbury Council on Aging will host a "tricks and treats extravaganza" on Halloween for local kids.

From 5 to 6 p.m., costumed kids under age 12 can visit the senior center for treats, light refreshments and games, including a spooky egg hunt. There will also be take-home candy apple kits and prizes.

Shrewsbury does not offer recommended trick-or-treating times. Local communities that do advise trick-or-treaters to keep activities confined between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m.
