Shrewsbury's Kim Pettingill-Long Named 2020 Commonwealth Heroine

SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury's Kim Pettingill-Long was named a 2020 Commonwealth Heroine. Pettingill-Long serves as Team Leader for MetroWest & Central Massachusetts and also serves as a State Chapter Lead. She was recommended for the award by State Rep. Hannah Kane and Sen. Michael Moore.
The annual Commonwealth Heroines celebration recognizes women from across the state who "perform unheralded acts daily that make our homes, neighborhoods, cities and towns better places to live." State legislators are responsible for recommending women within their districts for the honor.
Pettingill-Long is a passionate advocate for safety in her community and a member of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. Along with her roles in advocacy for public safety, Pettingill-Long is a mentor for Big Brother/ Big Sisters of Central MA/MetroWest. She has also served as a volunteer Facilitator & Mentor for Dress for Success Boston.

"Her commitment to improving the lives of those in her community is unwavering," the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women, which gives out the honor, wrote, "Kim is a tireless advocate for many in her community."
