Attempted Kidnapping At Somerville Daycare Center Leads to Skirmish with Police
Sandro Corbelli, of 17 Dartmouth St., is in custody, and undergoing evaluation at a hospital.

A scary situation unfolded at a Somerville daycare center on Tuesday.
The Boston Globe reports that Sandro Corbelli attempted to kidnap a 1-year-old girl from the 17 Dartmouth St. facility at around 9:15 a.m.
According to the source, it is unclear whether or not Corbelli and the child are related, and Corbelli lives in the same building as the daycare center.

When police arrived, Corbelli had the child in a bearhug, but they were able to swiftly get her out of his clutches.
As police were dragging their suspect into the hallway, he was briefly able to get a hold of an officer’s gun, according to the Globe.

Apparently it took five or six officers to subdue the alleged kidnapper, and one officer was injured in the skirmish.
